Planting oak trees for Global Day of Doing

In celebration of the 10/10/10 Global Day of Doing, The Land Conservancy of McHenry County organized 10 oak tree plantings.
The oak seedlings were grown in McHenry County by Glacier Oaks Nursery from locally collected acorns. The nursery donated the trees for the event in support of TLC’s Project Quercus, a public-private partnership meant to ensure that future generations will enjoy these majestic trees.
Project Quercus has led to the planting of more than 1,000 oaks in the county during the past four years, and several thousand local oaks are being raised by Glacier Oaks Nursery for future planting.
